The rabbit in us !
I read a story somewhere, long ago...
Once, a little rabbit was born behind cold glass and metal walls, never knowing life outside the laboratory. One night, his cage swung open by chance, and he dashed into the unknown. For the first time, he felt grass under his paws and saw the sky lit up with sunset colors.
Not far away, he met another rabbit. "Hi! I just escaped from the lab nearby. Were you always free?" "Oh yes," the wild rabbit said, "I live just over there. Want to see?" "Absolutely!" the lab rabbit replied, and they hopped down the lane together. Soon, they reached a meadow full of lush grass, and the lab rabbit ate eagerly. "This is delicious!" he said. "Wait until you see the next field," his new friend grinned, "it’s packed with lettuce and carrots." Sure enough, the next field was overflowing with vegetables, and the lab rabbit ate with delight. "Now for the best part," his companion said, leading him to a field full of lively female bunnies. The day was filled with laughter and joy.
As the sun set, the lab rabbit stood up to leave. "Where are you going?" his friend asked. "This has been amazing, but I really should get back to the lab." "Why? You have everything here: food, freedom, friends." The lab rabbit sighed, "I know, but honestly, I am desperate for a cigarette."
One may call the rabbit a fool. But is there a rabbit in all of us?
